SHANNON FULENWIDER

Growing up, I loved arts and crafts, and I dreamed of being an artist. Throughout school, I took art classes and was always creating things. Art was, and still is my escape from the world. It’s my happy place!

After high school, I decided to pursue my love of art by going to interior design school at O’More College of Design, then transitioned to architecture school at Auburn University. After college, I kept crafting and creating for myself and close friends, but didn’t make the leap into becoming an artist until 2016. Finally, I decided to use the talent that God has given me and pursue my childhood dream of being an artist. So, I started playing with combinations of acrylics, resin, and mixed media. You can probably tell by my artwork, that I love lots of color, whimsical, and all things shiny…more is more!

My art is inspired by my surroundings, whether it’s objects, nature, or architecture. I love to get inspiration from traveling and have been lucky to see some great places as I try to checkoff all fifty states.

Recently, I started creating art from broken glass and ceramics. I know these broken pieces and shards of glass hold special memories that I can repurpose, arrange, and piece back together. The broken pieces come together like a puzzle to create a new unique piece of art that will hold future memories.

This is the first working studio that I’ve been a part of. I’m so excited to be here!
